Zak and Rachel’s journey began long before their first date. They’ve known each other since elementary school, sharing a small friendship that faded when life led them to different middle schools. But fate had other plans. They were reunited in high school, sitting side by side in biology class. What began as a reconnection soon blossomed into a bond that would last for years to come. By their freshman year, they were inseparable, and from that moment on, they embarked on a relationship that would stand the test of time.

After high school, Zak and Rachel took a leap of faith and moved to Weatherford, Texas, to start a new adventure. Rachel pursued her dream of becoming a cosmetologist, enrolling in school while working part-time as a server. Zak worked full-time as a server to support them both, and together they created a life filled with love and laughter. In Weatherford, they adopted two furry companions—Bucky Barnes, a playful corgi-Australian shepherd mix, and Nebula, their mischievous Russian Blue cat, who’s often more of a pain in the butt than a cuddly companion, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Though they cherished their time in Weatherford, life called them back to Abilene, where Rachel continued to build her career in cosmetology, excelling at Texas Roots Salon and Spa. Zak also found new opportunities, working at the Abilene Country Club while continuing to support their dreams. Their love for each other only grew stronger, and together they worked not only to build their careers, but also to build a future.

As their journey continued, their family grew with the adoption of Captain, a spunky Australian Shepherd who brought even more joy (and chaos) into their home.

Today, Zak and Rachel live together in an apartment, sharing their lives with their two dogs and their beloved troublemaking cat. They are beyond grateful for every moment they’ve spent together and excited for the many more adventures ahead. From high school sweethearts to lifelong partners, their love has only deepened over the years, and they are ready to begin this new chapter, surrounded by family and friends who have been part of their journey.
